As I was visiting one of my cousins in Kentucky, I was eating some left over homemade pizza for lunch. When I came to the crust I had noticed it was very dry and wasn’t appealing to my palette. I put the crust down on my plate, pushed it aside and grabbed a Country magazine I was looking at earlier. A few moments later my cousin exclaimed in a fake scolding voice “George, what are you teaching my daughter; she says she doesn’t have to eat her crust because you don’t have to.”
This is just a silly illustration of the influence we have on the people around us. Like my cousin’s three year old, people are going to be influence for good or evil by the way we behave and act around them. As a Christian we must live in a way that is Christ like so that our lives shine in the glory of God and in the love of Christ.

In my devotions today I started to read the book of Ephesians. During the first two chapters of the letter, Paul writes his introduction and in his usual fission gives praise to the Lord before getting into the meat of his letter. In his introduction, Paul praises the Lord for his grace and mercy for the redemption and forgiveness of sins for the entire human race, not just the Jew. Before the foundation of the world God has made a plan for the redemption and salvation of his children whom he haven’t even created yet; a plan so amazing, it is beyond the complete comprehension of man. The plan involved Himself becoming man and bearing the punishment of the whole worlds’ sin by His death on the cross at Calvary! Amazing!
And can it be, that I should gain, an interest in the savior’s blood? Died he for me, who caused his pain: for me, who Him to death pursued. Amazing love! How can it be, that Thou, my God shouldst die for me? – Charles Wesley, Psalms and Hymns, 1738

I just wanted to inform my readers that I have disabled my facebook account. There are several reasons for doing this.
The first of which is the indecent content from users and advertisors that I can not control. No matter how many times I click the thumbs down on ads, I still get half naked girls advertising dating services pushed through the ads. I do not want to see this pornography. Second, I was getting annoyed by the avalanche of requests from people I don’t know or friends wanting me to join activities or use applications that will provide worldly entertainment. Seriously, why in the world would I want to join a virtual mafia and rob banks, sale drugs and kill people if I would not want it to do that in real life.
It all boils down to this; I will not intentionally go to sights that I know will put things in front of my eyes or entice me to participate in activities that I know would be offensive to the Holy Spirit or cause me to do things or have desires that are not Christ like.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
(Php 4:8)

Hello George fans, its been a while.
I added Justin and Brandy Singleton’s family blog to my blogroll. Justin currently is in Jordon at an archeological dig site while Mandy is at home taking care of their beautiful and smart kids. There is a really cute movie starring the kids which you gotta see.
Over the Memorial day weekend I went to visit my cousin Becky and her family; whom I took out to pizza hut. We ordered a lot of pizza (5 mediums). It was good and they enjoyed it. The rest of the weekend I spend resting or getting attacked by the kids (the boys figured out I was ticklish and little Emily thought I was a jungle gym).
@ Work
Summer is here and that brings some changes. First, my hours have changed so that I am working four 10 hour days; Monday – Thursday 7AM to 5:30 PM. That means I get a three day weekend. Second, no food service; which means I have to cook for myself. Thankfully I am an expert Ramen noodle cheff. Check out this recipe:
1 pck Ramen Noodles (beef or chicken)
water
a dash of crushed red pepper
a dash of freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp grated parmasean cheese
Cook on high until boil, reduce tempature and let sit for a few minutes.

Thank you mom for bringing me into the world!
- My room is never messy, it is “organized” the way I liked it.
- Unmade beds are more comfy then made ones.
- Unclean hands helps to keep my immune system updated
- I had already combed my hair, what little is left
- And since I live 1000 miles away I CAN eat my dessert before dinner,
however I do eat my veggies.

I can’t believe the semester is almost over. After a bang (finals, faculty submitting grades, camp meeting) it is going to be quiet around here as students head home. The quietness doesn’t necessarily mean I not going to be busy. Our summer IT To-Do list is huge; so huge that is is not likely that everything is going to get done on it. I will working on a some server related projects and some programming and SQL projects for the Academy.
One of my biggest projects is the Academy Parent Portal. This portal will be a heavily modified student portal so that Academy (K-12) parents can check on the status of their children and see what homework is due and what quizzes or tests are coming!
My side business is also growing. I have several business clients now and I interest in my services has been voiced by several small business owners. I am also working on several big projects for a mortuary service company.

I am currently in my office on hold waiting for a tech to pick up the phone somewhere in India. I have been working on several IT related projects; one of them being getting authentication working on the student/dorm internet.
I have worked on this before and got it working but we never enabled it because of issues with web browser behavior over self-signed certificates. Now we have purchased a certificate that should allow the authentication to work flawlessly in whatever web browsers the students are using.
Over the last weekend I visited my cousin Becky and her family and had a good time. They did not have internet, so I spent the time entertaining the kids; playing my recorder and clarinet, and just having a good time!

What a day. Instead of doing my normal nerdy duties at my desk; I along with my IT cohorts spent half of yesterday and all of today doing major cleaning in IT. President Avery instigated a project involving completely cleaning the campus; disposing of all junk that has been collecting for decades. The project started on the third floor of the admin building; which is where IT is.
Before today; it was next to impossible to keep IT clean; there was just no place to store equipment and supplies so we kept it all in the hall and on the floor in our offices. All of our storage space was being used to store IT and non-IT junk and paper files. The junk and files were removed so that we can use the storage areas in our offices to put away our equipment.
